Dating

November 22, 2010

Back when they were young and single, one of the main reasons Priyanka and Karthik would go attend weddings was to find people worth hitting on. In fact, given the number of weddings they would attend for this particular reason, it is indeed a surprise that they ended up meeting online, and not at someone else’s wedding.

Given this background, Pinky and SKimpy recognize the need for providing an elegant platform for people to find other “hittable people” at their wedding. If you look around this website, there are several ways to make this work.

Firstly, there’s the confirmed guests tab, with links to people’s facebook profiles. One of the aims of this tab is to provide an opportunity for people who want to find hittable people to find hittable people. This tab gets updated (not automatically, though) when people RSVP using the site. Indeed, it is a surprise that a week before the wedding very few people seem to have made use of this facility and registered themselves.

Then there is the shoutbox you see on your left. The original intent of this was to enable potential guests chat up other potential guests, in full view of the public, and arrange themselves a date at the sidelines of the wedding.Again it is quite surprising that a week before the wedding activity in that hasn’t really picked up.

In any case, Pinky and SKimpy promise that if guests at the wedding find other hittable guests at the wedding, and if they (Pinky and SKimpy) aren’t too busy, they’ll help make an introduction! And contribute to the noble endeavour of helping people find other people.

The House

October 5, 2010

After getting married they will be living in an apartment in Tata Silk Farm, South Bangalore, the same place where Karthik currently stays. It is a two bedroom apartment with balconies on three sides overlooking KR Road. It is situated to the south of Gandhi Bazaar but to the North of Banashankari.

For a long time, Priyanka has been fascinated with the vegetable market in Gandhi Bazaar and had made it clear to her parents back when she was in school that she only wanted to marry someone from South Bangalore, and preferably live in a place that is walkable from the Gandhi Bazaar market. Karthik thinks that one of the main reasons Priyanka liked him was because he is from South Bangalore.

Karthik and Priyanka are planning to redesign the interiors of the house. They plan to get a new LCD TV, a couch, a bed and several other sundries. Soon enough, the house will be done up so well that in every conversation you’ll be dropping hints to get invited, or better, just gatecrash their house.

    • the woozy feeling of overcoming inertia
Everytime I get out of my comfortable zone, i feel this woozy feeling in my stomach. Incredible force needs to be applied to disturb my state of inertia. With force comes strain. Strain in the form of wooziness in the stomach. Be it travelling, running, writing a computer adaptive test or waiting for any results to be announced. I wonder why only my stomach […]
    • Too much spice in life, never too sweet.
A common household pre-marriage dialogue that I am absolutely aversed to is "madhve aagi hodmele, hudgiru, yaavatthu bere manevre". I always liked to believe this is not true. My world seems to be crumbling around me now that I see that line becoming a reality in life.I began to analize what it is that changes after getting married and here are the […]
